Summer in Morzine is completely jam packed with activities.
Whether it’s adrenaline paced; downhill mountain biking, rock climbing and white water rafting or a little bit more sedate; hiking, road biking and lake swimming, there really is something for everyone.
This summer however, it’s the special events that we’re getting excited about…
We’ve already had the hugely successful and entertaining Crankworx in Les Gets, which had fabulous weather this year to make up for last years wash out, and saw Beatnuts giving a free concert on the penultimate night, plus people doing things on bikes we never would have thought possible!
We also saw hundreds of mountain bikers descend of us (no pun intended!) last weekend for the Passeportes du Soleil, a 3 day biking event spanning 80km of pistes.
It’s only the end of June though, we still have plenty to come:-
Spartan Race- on the 1st and 2nd of July- watch super fit men and women climb, swim, carry and generally look mightily impressive passing through/over/under obstacles set up all over town. Last year we had no idea what to expect when the Spartan came to Morzine, but this year we know it’ll be a fun and downright fascinating weekend (how can they do that?!), whether you’re a spectator or a competitor.
Harley Days- from the 13th to the 16th July is THE summer event in Morzine and this year it promises to be bigger and better than ever before! There’ll be tons of live music, including The Original Blues Brothers, Trust, Will Barber, Johnny Gallagher and more, plus there’ll be a parade of bikes all around the town on Saturday, with motor bike paraphernalia stands lining the Rue du Bourg throughout the 3 days and plenty of interesting bikes (and outfits!) to admire! New for this year there is a 3rd stage and bar set up in the Carrefour car park.
Morzine Plage- Let’s hope for good weather on the 26th and 27th July and the 9th and 10th of August because Morzine is going to have it’s own beach! Arguably the one thing the town doesn’t have, this kid friendly 2 days of fun includes- a beach (obvs), inflatable games, beach-themed workshops, an ice bar, zumba classes, a concert and palm tree skydancers! We’ll wait to see exactly what the sky dancing involves come July…
And if the above doesn’t tickle your fancy, there’s also The Mont Blanc Rally, The Trail des Hauts Forts and the Wibit, an inflatable water park which is currently installed at the Les Gets lake until 27th August!
So whether it’s sporting events, live music, or chilling at the beach, Morzine/Les Gets have got you covered this summer ☀️
